Our tagline, “The Future of For Trade Only” is a crucial emphasis for our company. President and owner Jim A. Moody brings a lifetime of experience to the table as well. In 1963, Jim’s father and mother, Ed and Patsy Moody began business with Cockrell Moody Printing Company before launching Moody Printing in October of 1968. Ed was a pioneer for direct mail printing and provided the first commercial direct mail web press in the state of Texas in 1970. In the 80’s, through a more enhanced vision, he realized that having a direct mail printing company with letter shop capabilities for the direct mail industry would be the wave of the future – this was true and in 1987, Moody Mail Marketing was launched.
Jim grew up in the printing industry, starting out as a six-year-old, sweeping the warehouse and cleaning restrooms and subsequently worked his way up through warehouse shipping, receiving, bindery, sales support, sales, sales management, and then to president and part- owner of company. In 1991, Moody Printing and Mail Marketing (at the time, 3rd largest mail company in Texas) was sold to Holden Communications in Minnesota. Jim stayed on for 13 years and grew the direct marketing division for the Holden group to the 10th largest in North America. He then retired but came out of retirement one and a half years ago to start J.D. Moody services in the For Trade Only arena with his brother Dan F. Moody as his partner.
